To the members of JBC,
As a Filipino, i believe its my right and obligation to object to any nomination to the highest position in the judiciary to any person who i believe is not qualified for the said job.
i object to the nomination of Secretary Leila de Lima for the following reasons:
1. for being the alter ego of the incumbent president.she will be surely be beholden to President Aquino, one of the reasons why former chief justice corona was so unpopular because most filipinos think that he's a "tuta" of Mrs. Arroyo. We should only put justices who we believe would be independent minded and will not succumbed to pressures from the executive branch and to popular opinions
2.for being a member of the court and a former head of the human rights commission, she deliberately did not follow the decision of the high tribunal regarding the TRO, we should always follow decisions of the SC even if we personally dont believe it, we should always respect human rights, the end will not justify the means....as a justice of the supreme court decisions must be made not because its popular but because its the legal thing to do....if she will be the nest chief justice the independence of the high court will be put at risk
IF WE WANT A REAL MATUWID NA DAAN, ALL JUSTICES OF THE SUPREME COURT MUST ONLY BE BEHOLDEN TO THE CONSTITUTION!!!!
